Inverse+description

A crucial concept for understanding Thrivability, "inverse" calls us to acknowledge what is often made invisible and forced into the shadows.

Questions for exploring the inverse include:

  • If our graph shows a growth curve, what curve reveals the invisible cost of that growth? what is the carrying capacity obscured in the curve?
  • If we make moral judgements about what is "good" than are we being mindful of what then is being implied to be "bad" also?
  • If we focus on what is present, do we neglect to notice what is absent?

Inverse encourages us to look for what is hidden and obscured by where attention is being placed. Making consciencious thrivable decisions comes from this full awareness of limits, shadows, negation, etc.
